Cold Springs

Summary

The Cold Springs Property is located 1.4 km east of Highway 50 in Churchill County NV, approximately 80 km east of Fallon. The property consists of 10 Federal Lode Claims staked on BLM Land with no surface impairments. Cold Springs is on the northwest margin of an Oligocene caldera in an area with numerous smaller gold and silver occurrences. The property is centred on a large quartz stock work zone containing gold and silver bearing quartz-chalcedony veins, locally surrounded by extensive kaolinite and montmorillonite alteration haloes. Grab sampling of the vein material by Silver Range in 2016 returned assays up to 20.1 g/t Au and 1,770 g/t Ag, similar to those reported by Abitibi Resources Ltd, the prior operator. The veins form a network with dominantly NW striking, steeply dipping veins cut by secondary orthogonal NE striking veins. In addition, there is a set of flat lying veins cutting the steeply dipping veins. Veins range from 30 cm to 3.0 m wide and are locally closely spaced.

The Cold Springs Property was discovered in the 1950’s and the general area explored with shallow drilling until the early 2000’s. Northern Abitibi Mining optioned the property in 2006, conducted CSAMT surveys on wide-spaced (250 m) lines and drilled 5 RC holes testing an inferred feeder zone. Their drill results suggest that they intersected the shallow margins of the system and did not locate the deep feeder inferred from an interpretation of the geophysical results. The property was dropped despite strong recommendations for follow-up work and was re-staked by Silver Range Resources in 2016.
